18/19 Weeks

 18-19 Weeks
I’m combining week 18 & 19 because I got behind and I was busy and before I knew it….19 weeks was here! So a recap…
Week 18 was rough in the beginning as I was still getting over a cold and not feeling well the weekend before. I didn’t have much of an appetite and there were a few times I couldn’t even finish my meal because it was suddenly not any good to me. The best part of the week was my ultrasound where we were able to see her moving around. I drank some apple juice right before the visit so she was moving a lot! I told Joe she must like sugar like he does. Joe hadn’t seen an ultrasound since our very first one so it was fun to see his reaction now that we can tell what is what. The weekend was busy, but a lot of fun. Saturday morning,  two of my friends and I hosted a baby shower for our friend Kim. She is expecting baby girl #2 and can officially go into labor at any time! She’s around 38 weeks. After the shower, my mom and I did a little baby shopping. We got some cute outfits at Carters and then at Target I found the car seat I’ve been wanting to check out. I met up with Kim again and we went to Rhea Lana’s which is a kids consignment sale. I bought 2 dresses and a pair of jeans that will be good for next spring. I bought a baby name book so we are slowly going through it. Hopefully she has a name before she’s born!

How far along: 18/19 Weeks

Total weight gain: 3 lbs

Maternity clothes: My regular dress pants are getting snug but they still are working! It’s maternity for everything else.

Stretch marks: None that I can see

Sleep: I usually wake up once to use the bathroom but other than that, sleeping well.

Best moment of this week: Finding out we are having a girl! Also, I got to meet Charlotte for the first time and get all caught up with my friend Robyn. It was so fun to see them and I can’t wait until we see each other again.

Miss anything: Still missing my clear skin but this week it is much better than last.

Movement: I think it’s safe to say I’m feeling movement. The last week or 2 I’ve had what feels like a muscle twitch but I’m almost positive it is actually what most normal people describe as fluttering! It’s hard to tell when you’ve never felt it before. I’ve also felt a few little “taps” which means she is kicking! This has only happened a few times but it is distinct enough for me to stop what I’m doing and hope it happens again.

Food cravings: I am loving french fries and ketchup still. And this weekend I had Slim’s chicken and cayenne ranch. SO GOOD! I’m really liking strawberry popsicles as well.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Last week several things made me feel sick but I think it was related to my cold and my stomach not being settled after being sick.

Have you started to show yet: Yes

Gender: Girl, no name yet..she does have a growing collection of very cute clothes though. She also has many nicknames giving my family including: Stella, Kitten, and Fancypants.

Labor signs: None

Belly button in or out: In

Wedding rings on or off: On

Looking forward to: Anatomy scan on the 27th  and we’ve had some more house showings the last 2 weeks. Hopefully this house sells soon!

Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice

In case you missed the big Facebook announcement…

Baby Nothum is a GIRL!!!!!!

We are very very excited! I had some Gap Cash to use so I made my first baby girl purchase last night.

We don’t have a name yet but we are working on it. And by working on it, I mean we keep throwing out ridiculous names just to be funny. Coming up with a name is hard! It’s nice to finally be able to refer to her as a “her” instead of “it” or “the baby”.

I drank some apple juice before my ultrasound so she was moving around like crazy and we were able to see that she is, in fact, a girl. As soon as he pulled up the image I could tell there were definitely no boy parts on that baby. I have my anatomy scan Feb 27th and that will be a 30-45 minute ultrasound where they check all of her organs and her growth to make sure she is perfectly healthy. After that visit, the ultrasounds end until I’m 36 weeks and that is just to check and make sure she is head down. Only 2 more weeks and we will be at the halfway point!

I’m sure she will appreciate me sharing this photo 🙂

17 Weeks

17 Weeks

Please excuse the unfocused image…we were experiencing some technical difficulties.

This past weekend was a little rough. I’m not sure what kind of  bug I had but it wasn’t pleasant. I still have a sore throat but I’m starting to feel better. Saltines are my friend right now and I’ve drank my weight in Gatorade. I watched a lot of Grey’s Anatomy and spent some quality time in bed. I don’t get sick very often and this was not something I care to repeat, especially while pregnant.

Miss anything: Clear skin and my regular t-shirts, they are snug across my belly.

Movement: I thought I felt something this week but I haven’t felt it since so I’m thinking it was just some stretching.

Food cravings: The past few days I’ve really wanted a good chocolate chip cookie.
